Jennifer Aniston Against Hair Extensions

Jennifer Aniston HairJennifer Aniston – who was once envied by millions of women during the mid-90???s for her trendy coif ??? now admitted in an interview that the hair extensions she wore during filming of the last season of “Friends” had actually damaged her hair. She had to get hair extensions two years ago after ruining her hair by cutting it herself.
Millions of fans have imitated her signature hairstyle, which became known as “the Rachel”, after her character in the famous sitcom.
The 37-year-old actress – who previously had a ??5 million advertising deal as the face of cosmetics giant L’Oreal – says her crowning glory was ruined by extensions she had put in soon after the hit series came to an end in 2004.

Having extensions usually involves having real hair or fibre glued into the recipients own natural strands, a process which has caused temporary embarrassing bald patches for several celebrities, reportedly including British actress Kate Beckinsale. Extensions – real hair or fibre woven into the hair and glued or heat-sealed in place – are more popular than ever.

She was quoted in Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper as saying: “Nothing destroys your hair faster than extensions. It’s taken a year and a half to get my hair grown out.”
Demand has doubled in three years thanks to celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Keira Knightley and Peaches Geldof.
But Nancy Dell’Olio, Kate Beckinsale and Christina Aguilera have all been seen with temporary bald patches caused by extensions.

She explains to Harper???s Bazaar, “I wanted a different look, so I cut my hair. Obviously, I wasn’t thinking clearly! So I decided to have extensions, never knowing that you end up with 400 things in your head that cause your hair to break off.
“Nothing destroys your hair faster than extensions. It’s taken a year and a half to grow out.”

I had hair extensions only for one week after taking them out because it couldn’t sleep as they were that painful just under half of my hair came out with them :| :| I was horrified , i’m only seventeen years old , although i don;t have any bald patches as such the hair is just very thin particually around the underneath front side of my hair
i would always advise against hair extensions , its just not worth it.

I’ve had extensions for the last 6 months. I loved how it looked, but it was extremely expensive. Also, it was quite a hassle when my boyfriend would try to caress my hair-I’d pull his arm away so he wouldn’t feel the bumps! He didn’t discover my extensions. But all in all, there were too many downfalls to it than anything :? I honestly just had them taken out today. My hair is VERY thin now-and I’m left disappointed at the long term results of extensions.
